Your GPs are short on time, and the referral trail often goes cold anyway

Getting a room full of GPs together is hard enough. Getting anything useful back after a referral is a separate problem.

  • Average wait for a first psychiatry appointment is 77 days. Some face to face waits have run past 258 days, per National Medicare data published last year.

  • Patients in regional and remote areas often have very few specialists within reach.

  • Referrals often go quiet. No written update comes back, so ongoing management in your rooms becomes guesswork.

  • CPD still has to happen, on days a GP cannot be out of the practice for long.

A 30-minute session, delivered by live video, catered by us

One of our specialists presents to your GPs over live video, wherever your practice is located, including regional and remote sites. The session runs for around 30 minutes including questions, so the interruption to consulting hours is minimal. eMed Specialist covers the catering, so your GPs keep their lunch break. No cost to the practice or attending practitioners. No obligation to refer anyone afterwards.

How it works:

  1. Send us your practice details. A short form takes about two minutes.

  2. We confirm a topic, presenter and time that fits your consulting schedule.

  3. The session runs at your practice, lunch included. Referring afterwards is your call.

If a phone conversation suits your practice better, our team is glad to speak with you. Either path gets you to the same session.

Frequently asked questions

Does attendance count towards CPD?

Attendance may count towards each practitioner's own CPD, recorded through their CPD home. eMed Specialist does not issue CPD directly.

What does the session cost the practice?

Nothing. No cost to the practice or attending GPs, including catering.

We already have a psychiatrist we refer to. Is this still relevant?

Yes. The session is clinical education, so it is useful whoever your practice refers to. eMed Specialist also covers paediatrics, geriatrics, endocrinology, and pain and rehabilitation, which can sit alongside an existing psychiatry referral.

We are a regional or remote practice. Does this work for us?

Yes. Every consultation is by secure video, so a regional or remote practice works with us the same way a metropolitan practice does.

Do we need to book a call to arrange this?

No. Sending your practice details by email or form is enough. If your team would prefer to speak with someone, a call is available too.

Who do we deal with at eMed Specialist?

Our team handles enquiries, scheduling and catering. You can reach us by phone, email or the form below.
